The Number of JCLEC Facilitate Online Programs Increased in January

Jul 25, 2021

The number of JCLEC-facilitated online programs increased in January 2021, with 6 of 10 activities delivered virtually. While we look forward to incorporating face-to-face activities in the future, JCLEC is fully committed to improving and expanding the online service delivery options for stakeholders

The 1st National Workshop on Community Policing to Prevent Violent Extremism, sponsored by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC, in partnership with the UN Development Program and UN Women) was facilitated virtually by JCLEC on 19–21 January. This inaugural workshop was the first of a series of eight capacity-building activities scheduled by the UNODC for next three months, commencing with a discussion on the ASEAN Political and Security Blueprint, which supports unity in diversity. Opening comments by Mr. Collie F. Brown (UNODC Indonesia, Country Manager) emphasised the need for community-driven, preventative action against terrorism; stressing the necessity for people-centered law enforcement policies to create peaceful societies, resilient to violent extremism and active in countering terrorism.
