The visit highlighted the close and long-standing partnership between JCLEC and the United Kingdom in advancing international cooperation, capacity building, and the collective fight against terrorism.

The visiting delegation also took part in the official opening of two training programs funded by the UK Government — The Art of Influence Batch 1 and Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) Batch 1.
Notably, The Art of Influence Batch 1 marked a major milestone as JCLEC’s 2000th program since its establishment.
This occasion highlights JCLEC’s long-standing collaboration with partners and stakeholders in delivering a wide range of capacity-building programs that strengthen regional cooperation and enhance counter-terrorism capabilities. Reaching our 2000th program is not only a remarkable achievement but also a powerful reflection of our shared commitment to fostering safety, stability, and collaboration across the region.

During the visit, the Deputy Director within National Security Directorate was warmly welcomed by JCLEC Management, followed by an engaging discussion on JCLEC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen counter-terrorism capacity across the region. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to exchange perspectives on emerging security challenges, share experiences from previous collaborations, and explore new avenues for partnership in training and education. A guided tour of JCLEC’s facilities showcased the centre’s learning environment, modern infrastructure, and dedication to professional development for law enforcement agencies from across the Asia-Pacific region.

The visit concluded with a symbolic tree-planting ceremony within the JCLEC compound, reflecting shared values of growth, sustainability, and unity. This simple yet meaningful act served as a reminder of the deep-rooted partnership between JCLEC and the United Kingdom—a collaboration grounded in trust, shared purpose, and a mutual vision of building a safer and more resilient global community.
